The problem is that if you have assets INCLUDING YOUR HOME  in excess of the upper limit of Ģ23,000 you have to pay all the fees yourself and on a reducing scale down to the lower limit of Ģ14,000.   With Care Fees currently averaging Ģ650 per week ..in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area,  and thenational average stay in Care being around 5 years..  that adds up to about  Ģ170,000  (without taking future inflation into account). When your savings have run out they´ll come after your home ...  putting a charge against it, so when itīs eventually sold they claw the money back from the sale of the house. .. down to Ģ14,000 thatīs not a lot left for the children from the average house value!
